ALTRON NEFT recommends following the vehicle manufacturer’s instructions. Under severe operating conditions such as: frequent short-distance driving, repeated stops and heavy traffic, engine operation at very low or high temperatures, or using low-quality (high sulfur) fuel. Oil change intervals may need to be reduced by half to ensure optimal engine protection.

Yes, an engine flush is recommended in the following cases: switching to a higher-performance oil, when the previous oil’s history or quality is unknown, using low-quality fuel or oil, or when there are deposits or combustion by-products accumulated inside the engine.

Oil consumption is a natural phenomenon, as a small portion of oil remaining on the cylinder walls burns with the fuel. The consumption rate depends on: engine capacity, operating conditions, and the technical condition of the engine. Some manufacturers allow consumption of up to 1 liter per 1000 km.

Possible causes include: worn valve seals, faulty crankcase ventilation system, turbocharger shaft or bearing wear, or blockage/failure in the internal ventilation system of the engine.

Low-quality fuel or fuel with high sulfur content can lead to: faster oxidation of the oil, formation of deposits and solids in the combustion chamber, and increased wear of internal engine components. ALTRON NEFT oils are formulated with special additives to resist these factors and protect the engine for longer periods.

Possible reasons: worn or clogged lifter, air or foam in the system, clogged or damaged oil filter, incorrect oil selection or viscosity, high engine temperature, or excessive mileage. Solutions: change oil and filter, use SAE/API/ACEA approved oils, shorten oil change intervals, and avoid overuse.

No, all required additives are already included in the balanced formulation of ALTRON NEFT oils. Adding extra additives may negatively affect oil performance and increase the risk of engine damage.

Viscosity selection depends on: the vehicle manufacturer’s recommendation (see owner’s manual). Operating conditions: cold climates require more fluid oils (e.g., SAE 5W-30), hot climates require thicker oils (e.g., SAE 20W-50). Engine condition: older engines with high wear may require higher viscosity to reduce oil consumption. ALTRON NEFT oils cover a wide viscosity range to suit various vehicles and working conditions.

TBN expresses the oil’s ability to neutralize acids formed during combustion. The higher the TBN, the better the oil protects the engine from corrosion and rust, especially when using high-sulfur fuels.

VI measures the oil’s ability to maintain viscosity as temperature changes. An oil with a high VI ensures stable performance in both cold and hot conditions.
